What Is Sensus Penduduk (Population Census) 2020 ?

Sangatta- Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) is the Agency responsible for running the Census in Indonesia. As stated in Law No. 16 of 1997 Article 8 paragraph 1, it explains that the Census consists of 3 types, namely Population Census (SP), Agricultural Census (ST), and Economic Census (SE). in 2020, a Population Census will be held by BPS. then how was the Census of Population 2020 implemented? In the previous Population Census, data collection was carried out by visiting each household directly, but in the 2020 Population Census it will be carried out by a Combined Method where data collection will begin with the updating of de Jure population registration data. and synchronized with direct enumeration in each household (de Facto) so that the population data generated will be divided into 3 categories, namely de facto with de jure, de facto not the same as de jure, and unknown. This makes the Population Census 2020 results richer in population information and can harmonize existing data in each institution in Indonesia. With the existence of this harmony, one Indonesian Population Data is expected to be created for more accurate Indonesian Development.
