Abstract

  • In April 2021, out of 90 cities on national CPI monitoring, 72 cities experienced inflation and 18 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kotamobagu at 1.31 percent and the lowest occurred in Yogyakarta at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Jayapura at -1.26 percent and the lowest at -0.02 percent occurred in Tanjung Pandan.
  • In Kalimantan Timur of Province  (Combined Kota Samarinda and Kota Balikpapan) in April 2021, there was an inflation of 0.16 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 0.69 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 1.05 percent.
  • In April 2021, inflation for Samarinda City was 0.26 percent and Balikpapan City was 0.02 percent.
  • Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.69 percent; followed by the clothing and footwear group by 0.47 percent; the personal care and other services group of 0.30 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.29 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.22 percent; the transportation group of 0.09 percent; housing, water, household fuel electricity group of 0.03 percent; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decrease in index were the health group by -0.26 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group of -0.06 percent. For the education group in April 2021, the index did not change compared to the previous month.
