Abstract

  • In November 2021, of the 90 municipalities monitored by the national CPI, 84 municipalities experienced inflation and 6 other municipalities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sintang at 2.01 percent and the lowest at 0.02 percent occurred in Bima and Pontianak. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu at -0.53 percent and the lowest at -0.16 percent occurred in Tual.
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Samarinda municipality and Balikpapan municipality Combined) in November 2021 saw inflation of 0.17 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 1.45 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 1.71 percent.
  • In November 2021, inflation for Samarinda municipality was 0.09 percent and in Balikpapan municipality twas 0.27 percent. Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: transportation group by 1.30 percent; followed by the group of equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance by 0.44 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.26 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.16 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.11 percent; and the health group by 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that showed a decrease were clothing and footwear by -0.42 percent; followed by food, beverage and tobacco groups by -0.12 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by -0.01 percent. The education group and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group tended to be stable compared to the previous month.
