The number of domestic air transportation passengers in May 2024 decreased by 28.05 percent compared to April. The number of sea transportation passengers in May 2024 decreased by 54.80 percent compared to April.

Abstract

The number of domestic air transportation passengers departing in May 2024 was 218,223 people, a decrease of 28.05 percent compared to April 2024. On the other hand, the number of passengers for overseas destinations (international) was 7,686 people or an increase of 110.58 percent when compared to the previous month.
The number of domestic air transportation passengers departed during January - May 2024 increased by 9.88 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, during January - May 2024 the number of international passengers was 20,763 people or a significant increase of 81.35 percent.
The number of domestic sea transportation passengers departing in May 2024 was 32,239 people, a decrease of 54.80 percent compared to April 2024. During the period January - May 2024, the number of passengers reached 203,816 people, an increase of 9.46 percent.
The number of goods transported in May 2024 increased by 10.32 percent compared to April 2024 to 8,868.42 thousand tons. During the period January - May 2024, the amount of goods transported reached 40,553.41 thousand tons.

The number of domestic air transportation passengers in July 2024 decreased by 2.88 percent compared to June 2024. The number of sea transportation passengers in July 2024 increased by 13.67 percent compared to June 2024.

Exports in May 2024 reached US$1,919.94 million, or down 9.14 percent compared to April 2024. Imports in May 2024 reached US$365.88 million, or up 6.51 percent compared to April 2024.

The number of domestic air transportation passengers in August 2024 decreased by 1.49 percent and the number of sea transportation passengers in August 2024 decreased by 5.25 percent from July 2024.
