Abstract

  • The Human Development Index (HDI) of Kutai Timur Regency in 2024 showed an improvement compared to the previous year. During 2020-2024, the average annual HDI growth in Kutai Timur Regency was 0.87 percent.
  • The HDI increase in Kutai Timur Regency in 2024 occurred across all dimensions: longevity and healthy life, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.
  • In the longevity and healthy life dimension, infants born in 2024 are expected to live up to 74.55 years, an increase of 0.22 years compared to those born the previous year. Life expectancy data is based on the results of the 2020 Population Census Long Form (SP2020LF).
  • In the knowledge dimension, The Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) for children aged 7 increased by 0.01 years compared to the previous year, from 13.01 years to 13.02 years, which is nearly equivalent to completing education up to a Diploma I level. Meanwhile, the Mean Years of Schooling (RLS) for residents aged 25 and above increased by 0.02 years, from 9.45 years to 9.47 years in 2024. The HLS and RLS data sources use the March National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) results.
  • The decent standard of living dimension, measured by the average adjusted real expenditure per capita, showed an increase in 2024. The average real expenditure per capita in Kutai Timur Regency reached IDR 12.49 million, an increase of IDR 529 thousand (4.42 percent) compared to the previous year.
