Abstract

The percentage of poor population in 2024 is 8.81 percent, decreasing by 0.25 percent compared to 2023. The number of poor people in East Kutai Regency in 2024 is 37.11 thousand people, increasing by 0.07 thousand people compared to 2023.

In 2024, the Poverty Line (GK) of East Kutai Regency will be at Rp753,332.00 per capita per month or increasing by around Rp39,091.00 compared to the Poverty Line in 2023 at Rp714,241.00 per capita per month. The population with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line is said to be poor, meaning that 8.81 percent of the population of East Kutai Regency has an average monthly expenditure of less than IDR 753,332.00.

The average gap in expenditure of the poor population to the Poverty Line has decreased compared to the previous year. This is reflected in the Poverty Depth Index (P1) of East Kutai Regency in 2023 of 1.20, down by 0.06 points in 2024 to 1.14.

Expenditure inequality among the poor in East Kutai Regency has decreased compared to the previous year. This is reflected in the Poverty Severity Index (P2) of East Kutai Regency in 2023 of 0.28, down by 0.04 points in 2024 to 0.24.
